Poukawa Valley
The Poukawa Valley is framed by limestone hills which are used primarily for livestock. Containe din the valley are some of Brownrigg Agriculture's most outstanding land resources: fertile cropping flats with plentiful artesian water and, in the centre of the valley surrounding Lake Poukawa, moist peat flats. These lands are utilised for a wide range of crops, along with livestock finishing. Adjoining Brownrigg Agriculture properties in the valley include Homeblock, Glenfrosa, Barkers, Ngawhakatatara and, slightly to the North, Te Mahanga and the Poukawa Research farm.
